ArenaNet and NCSoft have sent word of some astonishing statistics to greet today's release of Guild Wars 2. Over a million players prepaid for the game allowing them access to the 3-day head start program. Additionally, over 400,000 players were on GW2 servers concurrently over the course of the early start.

“This is the culmination of a 5-year journey and to be greeted by this level of enthusiasm by our fans is truly amazing,” said Mike O’Brien, president and co-founder of ArenaNet. “But really our work is just beginning.
