Q：So this is my very first character created in this game and I"m really enjoying this class so far. One thing I have noticed is this class seems to be more DoT (damage over time) oriented and I was wondering if there are some strategies to deal damage more quickly like other classes can so I can complete quests a bit more quickly. I'm in demonology because I thought it looked cool but idk if that's a very effective profession I should have chosen. As a WoW noob and a Warlock noob to boot does anyone have any tips on which skills I should focus on while leveling and how I should develop my character? I just want to damage enemies a bit more quickly because the casting times for my skills seem a bit long for my taste 。
A：Warlocks don't have much to work with in the beginning so all three specs will feel somewhat similar , but they'll start to fill out more between 40-60. They're mainly about learning how to manage an extra resource and use it for special abilities, such as Demo' Demonic Fury and the Metamorphosis ability. Affliction is more about using multiple DoTs, while Destruction definitely has more big burst damage capabilities, especially once you can work with Burning Embers and Chaos Bolt.
Also, as you continue to level you'll be able to fill out and improve your gear, which will help in hitting a lot harder. However, the warlock's main damage output in dungeons will come from the boss fights, not the trash along the way, since you'll actually get to use a full rotation while fighting the harder bosses. For now, you should still be able to visit the warlock trainers in Orgrimmar . IIRC useful Int weapons aren't really common in dungeons after Blackfathom Deeps, and this way you're guaranteed to at least get something with stats on it.
