Inexplicably beginning with a cheery holiday tune, Ubisoft has released a five minute long trailer for Tom Clancy's The Division that shows off some pretty sweet game play footage. Check it out and let us know what you think!

At different times in New York’s modern era, the subway system has been a “challenging” location. But in the post-pandemic New York of The Division, the subway is the quietest place to be – at least in this gameplay demo. With empty encampments, rows of body bags, and an “ECHO” of the past (thanks to a data-collection tool that renders moments frozen in time), the subway is a tomb of sorts, where brutal memories haunt the survivors of the recent catastrophe.

But the agents of the Division aren’t just mired in the horrors of the recent past. Eventually they emerge into a wrecked midtown Manhattan, only to spot another group patrolling the area. And that’s when all hell breaks out. (As if New York wasn’t hellish enough already.) Shots ring out, the agents spread out, and – my personal favorite moment – one of them tosses some sort of strobe drone (we’ll get you the official name for that nifty gadget later). The strategic team-based gameplay is on full display, with each agent playing a different role and deploying different weapons and gear. (Dig that mini flamethrower turret!) And while it’s got the all-out action you expect from a great shooter, the game’s RPG core is also apparent – with every kill granting experience points, and a wide array of customizable options at each agent’s fingertips.
